エチオピア北部、エリトリア国境近くにある世界一過酷と言われるダナキル砂漠。アフリカ大地溝帯に位置し、地下をマントルが流れるため夏は50℃超え、活火山や硫黄温泉、塩湖など、この世のものと思えない不気味な光景が存在します。

"Danakil Depression" called the hottest and most inhospitable place on earth, is located in the north Ethiopia near the border with Eritrea. There is on African Great Rift Valley and more than 50 degrees C in summer. So there are active volcanoes, hot sulfur springs, salt lakes.

エチオピアのダナキル砂漠にある「エルタ・アレ火山」。世界で一番低地にある活火山であり、近距離でマグマの生の活動を見ることができる世界的にも希少な場所。気温40度以上、4時間超のトレッキングは過酷すぎる体験でした。

Erta Ale is a continuously active basaltic shield volcano in the northeastern Ethiopia, known as the volcano situated in the lowest place in the world, and a badland desert area spanning the border with Eritrea. Erta Ale is the most active volcano in Ethiopia.
